1. After having entered the Han gates I must treat the parents and relatives of my sworn brothers as my own kin. I shall suffer death by eating leftover dog if I do not keep this oath.
Setelah bergabung dengan Han (sebutan lain dari Triad), saya harus memperlakukan pada orangtua dan rekan-rekan saya bagaikan saudara seumur hidup. Saya harus mati kalo melanggarnya.
2. I shall assist my sworn brothers to bury their parents and brothers by offering financial or physical assistance. I shall be killed by five thunderbolts if I pretend to have no knowledge of their troubles.
Saya harus membantu rekan-rekan saya untuk memakamkan orangtuanya atau keluarganya dengan menawarkan bantuan finansial atau fisik. Saya harus dibunuh dengan disetrum (kalau diatas disebut disambar 5 petir, mungkin karena petir lagi langka makanya dibikin kesetrum aja) kalau pura-pura tidak tahu.
3. When Han brothers visit my house, I shall provide them with board and lodging. I shall be killed by myriads of knives if I treat them as strangers.
Kalau anggota lain mengunjungi rumah saya, saya harus menyediakan penginapan dan makan. Saya harus dibunuh dengan pedang atau pisau kalau memperlakukan mereka sebagai orang asing.
4. I will always acknowledge my Han brothers when they identify themselves. If I ignore them I will be killed by myriads of swords.
Saat anggota lain memperkenalkan dirinya, saya harus meng-iya-kan apa yang mereka katakan. Kalau tidak, saya harus dibunuh dengan pisau atau pedang.
5. I shall not disclose the secrets of the Han family, not even to my parents, brothers, or wife. I shall never disclose the secrets for money. I will be killed by myriads of swords if I do so.
Saya tidak boleh menyebarkan rahasia dari Han, bahkan kepada orangtua, saudara, atau istri sendiri. saya juga tidak boleh menyebarkan uang dengan alasan uang. Kalau dilanggar, saya harus mati dengan pisau atau pedang.
6. I shall never betray my sworn brothers. If, through a misunderstanding, I have caused the arrest of one of my brothers I must release him immediately. If I break this oath I will be killed by five thunderbolts.
Saya tidak boleh mengkhianati rekan-rekan. Kalau terjadi kesalahpahaman yang menyebabkan salah seorang rekan saya dipenjara, saya harus secepatnya membebaskan. Kalau tidak, saya akan mati dengan disetrum.
7. I will offer financial assistance to sworn brothers who are in trouble in order that they may pay their passage fee, etc. If I break this oath I will be killed by five thunderbolts.
Saya akan menawarkan bantuan finansial untuk rekan-rekan yang sedang terbelit hutang, dll. Kalau tidak, saya akan mati disetrum.
8. I must never cause harm or bring trouble to my sworn brothers or Incense Master. If I do so I will be killed by myriads of swords.
Saya tidak boleh membahayakan atau membawa masalah untuk rekan-rekan atau Ketua. Kalau iya, saya harus mati dengan pedang atau pisau.
9. I must never commit any indecent assaults on the wives, sisters, or daughters, of my sworn brothers. I shall be killed by five thunderbolts if I break this oath.
Saya tidak boleh terlibat indiden yang menewaskan istri, saudari, atau anak perempuan dari rekan-rekan saya, atau saya harus mati dengan disetrum.
10. I shall never embezzle cash or property from my sworn brothers. If I break this oath I will be killed by myriads of swords.
Saya tidak boleh mencuri kekayaan atau uang dari rekan-rekan. Kalau melanggar, saya harus mati dengan pedang atau pisau.
11. I will take good care of the wives or children of sworn brothers entrusted to my keeping. If I do not I will be killed by five thunderbolts.
Saya harus merawat istri atau anak-anak rekan bila mereka mempercayakan mereka kepada saya. Bila tidak, saya harus mati disetrum.
12. If I have supplied false particulars about myself for the purpose of joining the Han family I shall be killed by five thunderbolts.
Kalau saya berbohong tentang diri saya demi bergabung untuk Han, saya harus mati dengan disetrum.
13. If I should change my mind and deny my membership of the Han family I will be killed by myriads of swords.

14. If I rob a sworn brother or assist an outsider to do so I will be killed by five thunderbolts.

15. If I should take advantage of a sworn brother or force unfair business deals upon him I will be killed by myriads of swords.
Kalau saya mengambil keuntungan dari rekan-rekan atau memaksakan bisnis/perjanjian yang tidak adil kepadanya, saya harus dibunuh dengan pedang.
16. If I knowingly convert my sworn brother’s cash or property to my own use I shall be killed by five thunderbolts.
Kalau saya memanipulasi kekayaan/harta benda rekan-rekan saya untuk saya gunakan sendiri, saya harus mati disetrum.
17. If I have wrongly taken a sworn brother’s cash or property during a robbery I must return them to him. If I do not I will be killed by five thunderbolts.
Kalau saya salah mengambil uang atau barang rekan saya sewaktu perampokan, saya harus mengembalikan kepadanya. Kalau tidak, saya harus mati disetrum.
18. If I am arrested after committing an offence I must accept my punishment and not try to place blame on my sworn brothers. If I do so I will be killed by five thunderbolts.
Kalau saya tertangkap setelah melakukan sesuatu, saya harus menerima hukumannya dan tidak boleh mencoba menyalahkan rekan-rekan saya. Kalau saya berlaku demikian, saya harus mati disetrum.
19. If any of my sworn brothers are killed, or arrested, or have departed to some other place, I will assist their wives and children who may be in need. If I pretend to have no knowledge of their difficulties I will be killed by five thunderbolts.
Kalau ada rekan saya yang tewas, dipenjara, atau pergi ke suatu tempat, saya harus menolong istri dan anak-anaknya bila mereka butuh. Kalau saya berpura-pura tidak tahu, saya harus mati disetrum.
20. When any of my sworn brothers have been assaulted or blamed by others, I must come forward and help him if he is in the right or advise him to desist if he is wrong. If he has been repeatedly insulted by others I shall inform our other brothers and arrange to help him physically or financially. If I do not keep this oath I will be killed by five thunderbolts.
Kalau rekan-rekan saya diserang atau difitnah orang, saya harus datang dan membantunya bila dia ada di pihak yang benar, atau menyuruhnya berhenti bila dia di pihak yang salah. Kalau dia berulang kali dipersulit oleh pihak luar, saya harus memberitahu rekan-rekan saya yang lain untuk membantunya secara keuangan atau fisik. Kalau saya melanggar, saya harus mati disetrum.
21. If it comes to my knowledge that the Government is seeking any of my sworn brothers who has come from other provinces or from overseas, I shall immediately inform him in order that he may make his escape. If I break this oath I will be killed by five thunderbolts.
Kalau saya mengetahui bahwa Pemerintah sedang memburu rekan saya yang datang dari daerah lain, saya harus memberitahu rekan saya itu supaya dia dapat melarikan diri. Kalau saya melanggar, saya harus mati disetrum.
22. I must not conspire with outsiders to cheat my sworn brothers at gambling. If I do so I will be killed by myriads of swords.
Saya tidak boleh bekerja sama dengan pihak luar untuk mencurangi rekan-rekan saya waktu berjudi. Kalau saya melakukan, saya harus mati oleh pisau atau pedang.
23. I shall not cause discord amongst my sworn brothers by spreading false reports about any of them. If I do so I will be killed by myriads of swords.
Saya tidak boleh menyebabkan pertengkaran di antara rekan-rekan saya dengan menyebarkan berita yang tidak benar tentang mereka, atau saya harus mati oleh pedang.
24. I shall not appoint myself as Incense Master without authority. After entering the Han gates for three years the loyal and faithful ones may be promoted by the Incense Master with the support of his sworn brothers. I shall be killed by five thunderbolts if I make any unauthorized promotions myself.
Saya tidak boleh menyatakan diri saya sebagai Ketua tanpa diberi kekuasaan sebelumnya. Setelah memasuki gerbang Han selama 3 tahun kesetiaan, seseorang barulah dapat diangkat sebagai Ketua dengan persetujuan rekan-rekannya. Kalau saya melanggar, saya harus mati disetrum.
25. If my natural brothers are involved in a dispute or law suit with my sworn brothers I must not help either party against the other but must attempt to have the matter settled amicably. If I break this oath I will be killed by five
thunderbolts.
Kalau saudara kandung saya terlibat sengketa atau masalah hukum lain dengan rekan-rekan saya, saya tidak boleh membantu pihak lain yang melawan mereka, tapi saya harus berusaha menyelesaikan masalah dengan damai. Kalau melanggar, saya harus mati disetrum.
26. After entering the Han gates I must forget any previous grudges I may have borne against my sworn brothers. If I do not do so I will be killed by five thunderbolts.
Setelah bergabung dengan Han, saya harus melupakan pertengkaran sebelumnya dengan rekan-rekan saya yang sekarang. Kalau tidak, saya harus mati disetrum.
27. I must not trespass upon the territory occupied by my sworn brothers. I shall be killed by five thunderbolts if I pretend to have no knowledge of my brothers’ rights in such matters.
Saya tidak boleh memasuki wilayah milik rekan-rekan saya. Saya harus mati disetrum bila berpura-pura tidak tahu.
28. I must not covet or seek to share any property or cash obtained by my sworn brothers. If I have such ideas I will be killed.

29. I must not disclose any address where my sworn brothers keep their wealth nor must I conspire to make wrong use of such knowledge. If I do so I will be killed by myriads of swords.

Saya tidak boleh membantu pihak luar melakukan sesuatu menentang rekan-rekan saya, atau saya harus mati dibunuh dengan pedang.
31. I must not take advantage of the Han brotherhood in order to oppress or take violent or unreasonable advantage of others. I must be content and honest. If I break this oath I will be killed by five thunderbolts.
Saya tidak boleh mengatasnamakan Han untuk tujuan menganiaya, merampas, atau mengambil keuntungan dari pihak luar. Saya harus jujur. Kalau saya melanggar, saya harus mati disetrum.
32. I shall be killed by five thunderbolts if I behave indecently towards small children of my sworn brothers’ families.
Saya harus mati disetrum bila berlaku kasar kepada anak-anak dari rekan saya.
33. If any of my sworn brothers has committed a big offense I must not inform upon them to the Government for the purposes of obtaining a reward. I shall be killed by five thunderbolts if I break this oath.
Kalau ada rekan saya yang terlibat suatu kriminal besar, saya tidak boleh melaporkannya kepada Pemerintah dengan tujuan memperoleh penghargaan. Kalau tidak, saya harus mati disetrum.
34. I must not take to myself the wives and concubines of my sworn brothers nor commit adultery with them. If I do so I will be killed by myriads of swords.
Saya tidak boleh berselingkuh dengan istri atau keluarga dari rekan-rekan saya, atau saya harus dibunuh dengan pedang.
35. I must never reveal Han secrets or signs when speaking to outsiders. If I do so I will be killed by myriads of swords.
Saya tidak boleh pernah mengungkap rahasia Han saat berbicara dengan pihak luar, atau saya harus dibunuh dengan pedang.
36. After entering the Han gates I shall be loyal and faithful and shall endeavour to overthrow Ch’ing and restore Ming by coordinating my efforts with those of my sworn brethren even though my brethren and I may not be in the same professions. Our common aim is to avenge our Five Ancestors (Kok Max, Mong Long, Gee Seng, Gee Heng and Bong Lai).
Setelah bergabung dengan Han, saya harus setia. Saya tidak boleh bergabung dengan kelompok lain. (yg terakhir ini agak susah dterjemahin).

THE MAFIA’S OATH:
i'l mafioso
1. No one can present himself directly to another of our friends. There must be a third person to do it.
Tidak satupun orang yg boleh memperkenalkan atau memberikan sesuatu secara langsung kepada anggota lain, atau rekan dari anggota lain. Harus ada orang ketiga yang melakukannya (kalau di Indo namanya “mak comblang”).
2. Never look at the wives of friends.
Tidak boleh melirik dan mengingini istri rekan/anggota lain. (tuh jadi bisa mengurangi resiko selingkuh)
3. Never be seen with cops.
Tidak boleh terlihat bersama polisi.
4. Don’t go to pubs and clubs.
Tidak boleh pergi ke bar atau klub malam (apalagi dugem)
5. Always being available for Cosa Nostra is a duty – even if your wife’s about to give birth.
Harus selalu siap sedia bila dipanggil tugas untuk Cosa Nostra (sebutan lain mafia), sekalipun istrinya sedang melahirkan.
6. Appointments must absolutely be respected.
Janji pertemuan dengan seseorang harus dihormati dan dipenuhi.
7. Wives must be treated with respect.
Harus memperlakukan istri dengan hormat. (kalo di indo mah banyak KDRT)
8. When asked for any information, the answer must be the truth.
Bila ditanya tentangg informasi, harus dijawab dengan benar dan jujur (ini yang bikin w bingung, gimana kalo ditanya ama polisi?).
9. Money cannot be appropriated if it belongs to others or to other families.
Tidak boleh memiliki uang/harta benda /kekayaan dari anggota lain, atau keluarga anggota lain.
10. People who can’t be part of Cosa Nostra: anyone who has a close relative in the police, anyone with a two-timing relative in the family, anyone who behaves badly and doesn’t hold to moral values.
Orang-orang yang tidak boleh masuk menjadi anggota Cosa Nostra adalah: mereka yang memiliki hubungan dekat dengan polisi, yang harus selalu dekat/menghabiskan sebagian besar waktu dengan keluarga, dan yang berperilaku buruk atau tidak bermoral.
